Let me tell you a little bit about myself and how Crystal's Cakes came to be.

​

 My name is Crystal Apollon. I'm a child of God, wife and mother of 3. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa. I studied Graphic Design at The Art Institute of Philadelphia. For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to have my own Graphic Design Studio. I never dreamed I would be a baker and pastry artist... although Crystal's Cakes literally started with a dream. There was a time when it seemed like I was working just to pay for child care.

When my children were young, I had a job working from 6am to 6pm. My children were constantly late to school and I certainly didn't enjoy coming home to make dinner and do homework at almost 7pm everyday. Long story short, my husband suggested that I stay home with the kids. Everything was great as far as the  kids and school, I was also able to take care of everything at home without being completely exhausted. There was one problem, my husband was working like a slave and I wanted to help him. 

 

So, I prayed  to God for a way to be able to make a financial contribution while being a "stay at home mom". Shortly after that, I had a dream that I was in a wide open field and a baker's rack filled with icing bags in every color you can imagine appeared out of no where...then I woke up.

 

I asked God the meaning and I simply heard Cake Decorator. I had basic knowledge, I knew how to bake and do simple buttercream decorating from high school, but I didn't even know fondant and all this other stuff existed! Lol

What I did have was the God given ability to do whatever I put my mind to and being detail oriented couldn't hurt, so I gave it a try. My first cake was a Spiderman cake for my nephew. My next task was a fondant decorated cake  and cupcakes for my house warming, it went over extremely well and the rest is history.

Here at Crystal’s Cakes, we specialize in custom cakes made from scratch and a variety of treats as well. I can make anything you'd like. However, my rule has always been that I will not make anything that I wouldn't want my children to see me make. That includes anything related to drugs, alcohol or anything x-rated. God gave me this gift and I will never use it in a way that would offend Him. Anything other than that... you got it!

 

When you take a bite of our cake or any one of our treats, we want you to experience a little taste of heaven. Meaning, I want you to enjoy it so much that you forget everything that's wrong...even if only for a moment. My prayer is always that whatever you order is the best that  you've ever seen or  tasted.
